Mario's Italian Eatery
About This Spot
Stepping into Mario's Italian Eatery feels like slipping into a beloved neighborhood gathering spot, where warmth infuses the air as naturally as the scent of freshly baked dough and simmering sauces. Nestled on Main Street in Frostburg, this little corner carries the rhythm of leisurely conversations and genuine smiles, inviting both longtime locals and curious visitors to pause and savor a simple yet heartfelt dining experience.
The space hums with a relaxed, unpretentious energy—a place where time slows down just enough to appreciate the small touches that make a meal more than just food. The staff’s easy friendliness feels like an extension of the community’s embrace, making each visit feel like coming home.
Mario’s is not just about traditional Italian flavors; it’s about the stories they carry. The house-made pizzas with their thoughtfully balanced toppings share the same warmth as the hearty strombolis or the crisp, fresh salads that punctuate brighter moments on the menu. Every dish seems to be crafted with a quiet passion, from the generous slices enjoyed on-site to the carefully packed meals that make their way into homes across the neighborhood.
There’s a subtle sense of generosity woven into the fabric here—not flashy or loud, but deeply felt by those who know it well. Beyond just satisfying appetites, this is a spot where kindness and community come together, echoing in the friendly hellos and thoughtful gestures that quietly define the atmosphere.

To most people this would just seem like an ordinary Italian restaurant but to the locals who know the owner, it is so much more. A true kind soul who gives to the community and isn't seeking praise for it. Oh and the Sicilian pizza is over the top good. I highly recommend this place.

One of our favorites! We took a detour on our way home from vacation to eat here. Variety to choose from, fantastic food and good atmosphere. Service was great too!

THE BEST GLUTEN FREE PIZZA EVER! I was diagnosed with celiac disease and pizza is one of my favorite foods. Sadly, the dough doesn’t agree with me. I have searched all up and down the east coast for good gluten-free pizza. From NYC to New Orleans, Maine to Biloxi, it is very rare and usually served on a retail brand dough, like Udi. It’s okay but it’s a substitute. When I heard that this little pizza place in Frostburg has been serving gluten-free, I had to try it. I went on a Sunday night with my husband, teen stepdaughter, and my Mother-in-Law. They got Alfredo and Lasagna, which each looked tasty. I ordered the gluten-free deluxe pizza. The owner brought the pizza to me, on a special pan, and explained how he had taken every precaution so that my pizza did not touch flour. It was made with such care and he was so pleasant, it made you want to patron the place.. but the taste? Simply incredible. It tastes like real pizza. I’m a customer for life. PS.. for non-gluten-free people, my teen daughter loved the Alfredo, my hubby thought it was just okay. My MIL said the Lasagna was very saucy and cheesy. Also, the house dressing is awesome.
